1.In 1900 Lovro was living in a boarding house in Mt Olive, Illinois. No wife is shown. Census shows following info: born Aug 1862, married, emigrated 1896, coal miner, 4 months unemployed, can read, write & speak English.
71 He was still in Mt Olive in 1907 when daughter Catherine arrived.
72 He has not been found in the 1910 census. Lovro returned to Barilović where he died. It is not known if Barbara ever came to US although “family tradition” says they both came over, but returned to Croatia. Manifest of Kaiser Wilhelm II (left Bremen 13 Mar 1906; arr New York 21 Mar 1906) shows Lovro Mejaški, married (wife did not accompany him), last residence Mt Olive; previously had arrived in US 1895.
